The past little while

The past little while

Today we decided to spend a little time walking around the Duke Gardens. It is just starting to get colder around here so I figured this might be the last weekend the Gardens are still pretty. I just finished up with a big round of tests (7 tests in 2 weeks) and Darin just finished a big paper so we decided to take it easy this weekend and not study so much. Besides all the tests, school is going really well. I've made some friends within my class and everyone seems to get along well. All of my professors are great and definitely keep us very busy. It's somewhat hard to believe that the semester is already over halfway over and that it is almost November. Darin and I are planning on visiting one of his friends in New Jersey for Thanksgiving so that I don't have to attempt making my first Thanksgiving Dinner. A couple of weeks ago Darin had an interview for a job at the Tobin Project (tobinproject.org) up in Boston that went really well. He should hear sometime this week whether or not he got the job. Although I am pushing for him to get a job in Durham, at least Boston is closer than across the country!

We miss you all and hope all is well! Brian and Oli, I hope you had wonderful birthdays and Jack's is just around the corner (I'm sure he's happy for it to finally be his day!). I love catching up with everyone and does hesitate to call...I'm always looking for something to distract me from work. I can't wait to see everyone again in December...we'll be home December 13th! Love you all!

After my anatomy exam last weekend I decided to spend a few hours dissecting this pumkin. It says "OOObama!" Every pumpkin counts!

Some of my new friends: Cheryl, Kari, Shayli, and Lauren. This weekend we went to the Durham Bulls baseball game (the movie "Bull Durham" anyone?). I've actually never seen the movie, but the game was fun. The Bulls won and we got to watch a thunderstorm in the distance.

Wall Drug

We made a pit stop at Wall Drug in Wall, SD. It was pretty silly and had lots of oversized animals which includes this bunny.
